Who am I

Shani Brody, founder of SENAYA

There's one thing I've learned over and over working with people under pressure: knowing what to do, and actually doing it in the moment, are two very different things.

I'm Shani Brody, an organizational consultant and group facilitator. For more than a decade I've worked with leaders and teams in complex organizations and systems, in environments where you have to think, decide and perform under load. Along the way I've guided managers and teams, and served in organizational development, learning and debriefing roles in the Shaldag unit and Unit 669.

Out of all those years, one simple understanding sharpened for me: in most cases the problem isn't that people don't know what to do. They know. The gap appears under pressure, when our nervous system begins to affect how well we can access what we already know. That's where SENAYA came from.

My path into this work draws on several worlds. I hold a B.A. from Ben-Gurion University and an M.A. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, with an academic background in learning, cognition and behavior. Alongside that I went deeper into the physiology of regulation and the tools to work with it in practice, through biofeedback studies at Bar-Ilan University and breathwork and cold exposure instructor training at the Wingate Institute.

The connection between these worlds is now the core of my work. On one side, understanding people within systems: how leaders think, how teams function, and what happens to communication and decision-making under load. On the other, understanding the person as a physiological system: what happens to breathing, arousal, attention and thinking as pressure rises, and above all what can be done about it in real time.

I don't teach leaders to be calm all the time. I teach them to recognize what's happening to them under load, to regulate themselves more effectively, and to return faster to the place from which they can think, choose and lead.

These are principles I keep exploring myself. Freediving is one of my personal laboratories, a place where I meet my own nervous system in real time, study the relationship between breath, body and mind, and learn again and again what lets us stay present and precise even as the load rises. Because in the end, performing under pressure isn't only what we know. It's our ability to stay connected to what we know, precisely when we need it most.

If you're seeing the signs of quiet burnout in your organization, or you want to give your leadership team real tools for performing under pressure, let's talk.

Collaborations

Connections and Collaborations

I am a great believer in the power of professional connections to create meaningful experiences. On selected projects, I join forces with professionals I deeply respect.

  • Liron Oren-Aloni, psychotherapist and movement therapist

    Liron Oren-Aloni

Liron is a psychotherapist and movement therapist who brings to our shared space years of rich experience in group facilitation, therapy and consulting for managers and executives. For more than 10 years she has worked in mental health care and in her private clinic, specializing in the treatment of complex post-traumatic stress (CPTSD) and eating disorders.

With a broad education that includes advanced degrees in movement therapy, arts-based group facilitation and business administration, Liron combines a deep understanding of psychological and organizational processes with a powerful connection to the language of the body. Her wide-ranging clinical experience allows her to create a safe space where movement, breath and inner inquiry meet to support meaningful growth and healing.

Our professional and personal bond deepened when we were certified together as breathwork and cold exposure instructors at the Wingate Institute. Liron joins me as co-facilitator of the retreat, bringing her unique expertise in movement and body-emotion work: expertise that naturally complements the SENAYA approach to physiological regulation. Her presence in the room, together with her deep belief in a person's ability to stretch and expand their life experience, turns our work together into a complete, embracing and empowering journey.

The SENAYA symbol

The story behind the name and the symbol

The name SENAYA carries the meaning "out of the path".

It grew out of the path I walked myself, and out of the connection formed over the years between the worlds of learning, leadership, body, mind and behavior.

But "out of the path" is also part of the SENAYA approach: stability, clarity and the ability to lead are not built from knowledge alone. They develop through experience, practice, and our encounters with challenge, change and load in real time.

The SENAYA symbol, too — the tree's core — expresses that same idea: stability within a changing reality. Just as a tree's roots and core allow it to stand firm against storms, regulation provides an inner anchor from which we can act, make decisions and lead clearly even as the environment shifts.
